This year, Alaska Chapter members are electing candidates to four seats on the Executive Committee. We received four nominations for the Vice President position; however, three of the individuals could not commit at this time. We received two nominations for the Student Representative position; however, one nominee had already finished school. Only one person was nominated for the Secretary and one individual was nominated for the Treasurer role. We greatly appreciate the interest and support of all of these nominees and the willingness of our members to recognize the leadership qualities of our peers. If you have a candidate that you would like to place a write-in vote, please select the Write-in Candidate option and then send an email with the name of the candidate to afs.alaska.president@gmail.com by 11:59 PM AKST on April 22, 2018.
The ballot URL is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PRC6NSS. Please cast your ballot securely online by following this URL and entering your personal information and to vote. We require this information to verify that you are an Alaska Chapter member and to ensure that each member votes only once. Your name will not be linked with the votes you cast.
On the balloting page you will find each candidate’s biographical summary and platform statement. You can go back and forth between the questions until you cast and submit your votes.
If you prefer to vote by mail using a paper ballot, please request one by contacting afs.alaska.president@gmail.com. We must receive your paper ballot no later than 11:59 PM AKST April 22, 2018.
Online balloting will be open through 11:59 PM AKST on April 22, 2018, and those elected will take office at the 2018 Western Division American Fisheries Society meeting the Alaska Chapter is hosting. We’ll send word of the final election results to Alaska Chapter members before the end of April.
Thank you for your support of our Chapter and the American Fisheries Society, both now and throughout the year.
